About the PSB Alpha C1

Excellence by design
PSB's engineers began by designing each Alpha speaker from scratch to ensure that they'll deliver the same level of performance typically found on speakers twice their price. The Alpha C1 uses a 3/4" aluminum dome tweeter to deliver crisp, sparkling highs. The dual 5-1/4" woofers are made of metalized polypropylene, making them strong but lightweight. It means you'll hear excellent midrange detail and distinct bass without a trace of the listening fatigue that can happen with lesser speakers. The two woofers flank the tweeter in an array that increases the C1's on- and off-axis response, so everyone on your couch can enjoy the same, great PSB sound.
Build a complete Alpha system
Create a complete, budget-friendly Alpha home theater system using the C1 center channel and a combination of Alpha T1s floor-standing speakers in the front of your room and either the B1 bookshelf speakers or LR1 satellite speakers in the back of your room. And don't forget to add a PSB powered subwoofer (or two) for room-thumping bass.

D'Appolito Speaker Array: The PSB Alpha Series C1 center channel's D'Appolito speaker array design employs a single .75" ferrofluid-cooled, aluminum dome tweeter flanked by a pair of 5.25" mid-woofers to create a wide soundstage with increased on and off axis performance. The C1 center channel easily handles complex on-screen action and dialogue.
Dual 5.25" Woofers: The PSB Alpha Series C1 speaker employs dual 5.25" injection molded metalized polypropylene woofers with rubber surrounds or accurate, detailed mibass response.
0.75" Tweeter: The Alpha Series C1 is equipped with a 0.75" aluminum dome, ferrofluid-cooled tweeter for crisp, clear high frequency reponse.
Waveguide: The C1 center channel's tweeter utilizes an acoustical waveguide to deliver, more even high frequency response, no matter what part of the room you're in.
Crossover Network: The tweeter and woofer are crossed over at 3,000 Hz.
Magnetically Shielded: The C1 is magnetically shielded for safe placement adjacent to your television.
Enclosure Design
Wood Grain Vinyl Cabinet: The PSB Alpha Series C1 features a black wood grain vinyl cabinet that matches almost any decor.
Bass Reflex Design: The PSB C1center channel speaker utilizes a bass reflex enclosure with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response.
Aluminum Grille: The center channel speaker comes with a removable aluminum (metal-mesh) black grille.
Connections
5-Way Binding Posts: The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire (up to 12-gauge), pin connectors, spade connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs.
Color-Coded: The speaker's binding posts are color-coded (red/black) for easy identification between positive and negative.
Mounting Options
Rubber Feet: The PSB C1 center channel includes four self-adhesive rubber feet to safely and securely place the speaker on a floor-stand or other AV furniture.
Wall Mounting: The PSB Alpha Series C1 center channel provides dual keyhole slots and four 1/4"-20 threaded inserts to wall-mount the speaker.
- Dual Keyhole Slots: The Alpha Series C1 loudspeaker has two keyhole slots on the back panel to easily wall-mount the speaker.
- 1/4"-20 Threaded Inserts: The C1 also features four rear-panel 1/4"-20 threaded insert to wall-mount the speaker using an optional articulating bracket (sold separately).
